System Description
The LRM
® - XXI Diagnostic System for wire ropes and tubes NDT / NDE is based on the principle of saturation of steel rope section with the use of permanent magnets and obtaining the Loss of Metallic Area (LMA) traces and Localized Flaw (LF) traces.
The use of the LMA sensor is essential in this wire rope NDT testing device for indication of a rope weakening due to internal and external corrosion, wear and other structural changes occurring on a length of a rope. LF Sensors detect local changes in a rope structure, eg. due to corrosion or broken wires. Flaws are detected in a whole cross section of a rope.

The LRM® - XXI Diagnostic System for testing steel ropes.

The LRM® - XXI Diagnostic System for testing steel tubes.

The LRM® - XXI Diagnostic System consists of:
LRM®-MH Measuring Heads
constructed for round or flat ropes testing, which as a standard comprise:
- Hall effect sensor for detecting long changes in the rope cross-section due to corrosion and abrasion effects, lack of wires in the tested section of the rope
- Inductive sensors for detecting local changes, e.g. broken wires, section loss, corrosion pits and other local rope damage.
LRM®-XXI Recorder
a microprocessor measuring system, equipped with:
- The compensation system of the speed influence on the amplitude of the inductive sensors signals. Speed may be set within the range of 0.1 to 3,5 m/s. (optionally from 0,0001 to 10 m/s.)
- The automatic control system for the recorder, ensuring the synchronous data with the length of a tested rope
- The electronic system of the sensor for long changes (LMA) and local flaws (LF) of a rope cross-section
- Signals processing and recording system
- The marking gauge of the rope length (marking for every 5[mm] to 100 [m].
- Connecting cables.
- The case-like container (carry type), housing the instruments and accessories
LRMRope Software
- for real time visualization testing of wire rope, data storage and analysis of results on computer.
LRMTube Software
- for on line visualization testing of tubes, data storage and analysis of results on computer
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
- LRM®-RI Encoder - a transducer for measuring head, for indication a rope movement and distance
- LRM®- CA-3 Chart recorder - for on-line visualization of results on a paper band.
- LRM®- MFL probe - for tube inspection.
